Eat Pray Wear Love: Tips for Improving Your Skincare Routine

Tips for Improving Your Skincare Routine

I was compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser in exchange for this post. As always, all opinions are my own. #LockInSoftSkin #WetSkinIsBestSkin #CollectiveBias

Is it just me or did anyone else start taking a dire interest in their skincare after they turned 30? It's like I noticed one wrinkle and immediately started to try to reverse the hands of time. In my attempt to keep my skin looking youthful, I've taken to trying just about every product under the sun! There are tons of products out there, all promising one thing or another regarding its benefits to your skin, but I am certain there is one product that everyone needs to keep their skin youthful and that's lotion, which is why I have teamed up with Jergens® Wet Skin™ Moisturizer with Refreshing Coconut Oil 10 oz

Growing up in California, I hardly ever wore lotion, but since moving to Colorado (and now living in a super dry climate) I have come to realize just how much of an important part of proper skincare it is. Below are a few of my tips for improving your skincare routine.
1. When showering, make sure your water temperature isn't too hot. I know, I know...it feels SO good. But is is incredibly drying on your skin! Beyond that, try to limit your shower time, as that can also dry out and even damage your skin.

2. Apply lotion within 3 minutes of showering. This is when the magic happens, so you have to act fast! Your skin cells expand after showering, making an easy pathway for lotion to be absorbed and fully hydrate your skin. It's almost impossible for me to dry off and apply lotion in that short amount of time, which is why I've been loving Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Refreshing Coconut Oil. (I'm also pretty fond of the Cherry Almond scent, which you can find exclusively at Walmart.) You can literally apply it while your skin is still wet, allowing it to seep and hydrate your skin immediately. (As a girl-on-the-go, I find this to also be a time saver!)
3. Add supplements. I've been adding collagen peptides to my daily routine, and am obsessed with the improvement I have already seen in my hair, nails and skin.
I know it can be so hard to think about adding more to routine, but I find that Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Refreshing Coconut Oil actually saves me some time in the morning. (Who can't use an extra 5 minutes, right?) Give it a try and let me know what you think!
